A Journey to my Own Transformation & Becoming a Life Coach for Women
In the 80’s, I became a transformational seminar junkie. I was influential in recruiting my family members, employees, and girlfriends to participate in basic and advanced courses. My teenage kids went to teen courses. Life coaching wasn’t as accessible in those days but the group seminars filled the role. This is why it was an easy transition for me to expand my career as a professionally certified coach.
I’m passionate about developing a culture of mothers, grandmothers, wives, and leaders that are inspired and motivated to become, emotionally, physically, relationally and financially healthy, living a super-powered life. Why not you? This is how we’ll influence our children and the people in our lives to create a thriving life story for themselves, and have a bigger impact on the world. This IS my WHY!
I co-founded a 501c3 nonprofit organization called CARTE-Child Abuse Resolved through Education where we provided a live 5-day STARR Super Camp for at-risk teen girls who had been abused and/or sexually exploited. It was successful in helping the girls understand that the abuse was not ‘who they are’, it was what happened to them, and that they have the power to live their best lives despite the abuse.
It was very exciting for me to launch this e-commerce platform Create a Thriving Life Story™ with products, workshops, meditations, and a community for women who want to learn how to thrive, despite any past or current negative circumstances.
Leaving a Legacy of Love & Prosperity
My definition of prosperity is embracing a healthy, meaningful and thriving life. the key word is embracing. I’d like to share a little about my family. Each of my adult children have entrepreneurial spirits. I was a single working entrepreneur and mother raising two kids, and I’ve been blessed in so many ways.
My son, Larry, lives in Colorado with his wife. He has two sons, and Kelly has a son and a daughter. He is doing extremely well in his career as a construction risk management expert (also my other career) for a nationwide company. My daughter is a successful leadership coach and consultant, now in her own practice also leading women’s retreats.
I have a grandson who is in training to be a flight medic in the Air Force Reserves, my second eldest grandson is in college pursuing a career in Sports Management, a third grandson, a senior in high school who wants to attend a military leadership program, and my youngest, a granddaughter who is a free spirit, She has played volleyball on an exceptional team throughout high school. And I have two “GRANDDOGS”, Atlas and Skye, who stay close by when I’m cooking in case I drop something.
Healthy cooking is my meditation and therapy; it relaxes and calms me. I really enjoy it, often with my granddaughter, family, and friends. In my kitchen, there’s a plaque on the wall that my son gave me one Christmas that says, Glo’s Gourmet-Serving up Memories Since 1966 (the year he was born). Cooking and coaching, often fill my home. I have thought of creating a cooking show called “Cooking for the Soul”. Great idea …I just don’t know where I’d fit it into my life.
In everything I take on, in every endeavor, in every role, as mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, entrepreneur, chef, and coach, I am prosperity-minded. My vision, my legacy is to influence not only my family, but other women to create a thriving life story that supports their highest dreams and aspirations.
