MM&M’s emerged out of a new reality for the presenter when she awakened to life support with her wrists tied to the bed railings to keep her from dismantling the very apparatus keeping her alive. She had been given a tracheotomy so she could breathe through a hole in her neck but couldn’t make a sound. She discovered she had a PIQ line in her arm to receive fluids and medications. She was diagnosed with severe Sepsis, Pneumonia, and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. Her chances for living were less than 10%. As she took in the enormity of her situation, she saw her nurse sister standing at her bed and simply mouthed the words “what happened to me?”
During her arduous recovery, she began to discover that practicing mindfulness was supporting her in healing her mind, her body, and her spirit.
